School Captains

The School Captains have a number of major responsibilities at Stanwell Park. Their primary responsibility is to represent the student body and to chair weekly assemblies. They also chair the Student Representative Council meetings and assist the younger students in their role as buddies and councillors.

There are two School Captains and two Vice-Captains elected each year from Year 6.

Towards the end of the year, Year 5 students are given the opportunity to nominate for election as School Captains for the coming year. They are invited to address the students at assembly prior to the voting.  All students from Year 1-6 vote in the elections and the votes are tallied. The School Captains for the new year are announced and the incoming Captains are presented with their badges at the annual Presentation Day held in December each year.

The community of School Leadership

Our School Captains take part annually in the Community of Schools Leadership Program which is conducted by the Student Representative Council of Bulli High School. Leaders from all the Primary schools in our Community of Schools attend Bulli High for a day to develop leadership skills. They examine specific programs and activities which they can then take back to implement at their own schools.
