Yesterday students from all the schools in our Seacliff Community of Schools were lucky enough to take part in our Learning Together Day. This was the result of planning by all schools in our Community Of Schools which allowed every student from all 11 schools to participate in a day of organised activities at a host school.
The program focus was on sharing Aboriginal culture by learning and playing traditional indigenous games at each hosting school. The students had a great time meeting and mixing with students from other schools, as well as learning about Aboriginal games.
Students travelled by bus to the following schools for the activities:
Austinmer Public School - Kindergarten students
Helensburgh Public School - Year 1 students
Stanwell Park Public School -Year 2 students
Coledale Public School - Year 3 students
Bulli Public School - Year 4 students
Thirroul Public School - Year 5 students
Waniora Public School - Year 6 students
Here at Stanwell Park we hosted all the Year 2 students who had a great time taking part in the activities and having recess and lunch together. A free sausage sizzle was provided by each host school.
Feedback from the students has been extremely positive with students certainly enjoying the activities and meeting other students in their age group.
This exciting initiative for all students within our Seacliff Community of Schools was very successful, even with the expected issues with very complicated bus transport timetables. Many thanks to all our teachers who did a fantastic job on the day supervising students and presenting an activity at each school.
