What a fantastic day we had for our special Education Week Open Day activities on Tuesday with a very large number of parents and grandparents taking the opportunity to come along and see the outstanding work of the students. The day was perfect weather-wise with clear blue skies allowing the children to perform brilliantly on our open-air stage.
Our main performance assembly showcased a variety of special acts. Our Training and Performing Bands displayed why they were both awarded special awards at last month's Bandfest with excellent performances. The school choir sang wonderfully and thoroughly entertained us all. Our Junior Choir and K-2 dancers were a favourite with many parents. Special congratulations to all the talented students who displayed their wonderful abilities as well as having fun in performing for our visitors. We were also treated to a special performance by Ella and Angus together who played a piece on trumpet and saxophone. Their performance was absolutely outstanding.
The open classroom sessions are always very exciting for the students who enjoyed showing their outstanding work and books to their parents and grandparents. The depth of student work is displayed on walls and in books across the school showing the obvious talents of each and every student.
Our Education Week activities concluded with a Book Fair, a sausage sizzle and picnic lunch. The Book Fair was very popular with many parents and students taking the opportunity to purchase some new reading material at special prices. Many thanks to those who donated books to the library. Thank you to the many parents, grandparents, relatives and friends who attended and to all the teachers who again put a great deal of effort into the production of the items and the organisation of the day..
