What an outstanding day weatherwise for our athletics carnival - finally! The decision to postpone the vent from the previous week was certainly vindicated. The day was perfect, even though it was a little windy. This caused some issues with the high jump bar blowing off regularly. The carnival was very successful with the students having a great deal of fun. Of course a carnival like this cannot take place without a great deal of hard work in preparation. Thanks to Mr Harding, Ms Holloway and teachers for their organisation. Special thanks to the many parents who assisted with events on the day, this support is greatly appreciated.
The number of parents who came along to cheer on the students was fantastic. The students really enjoy performing with their parents watching. Overall it was brilliant to see the students taking part in every activity and enjoying themselves so much. The novelty and ball games events were an example of this with some very exciting events being held. All the students had a great time with some very impressive times run and standards set in the events. Congratulations to the winners of all the races. Trophies and ribbons will be presented at an upcoming assembly and a large squad of talented athletes will be progressing to the District Athletics Carnival to be held early next term.
